Peel essences of Citrus species such as C.sinensis, C.paradisi, C.reticulata and C.aurantium were extracted by cold expression. The qualitative and quantitative analyses were evaluated (GC/MS). To evaluate acute toxicity of our species in vivo, we administrated our extract by three different routes: oral, intravenous (IV) and intraperitoneal (IP). Under these conditions, mice were treated with different doses, 14 days later the signs of toxicity were recorded. Results show that C.sinensis’s essences administration prevents signifi-cantly the LD50 (2760 mg/Kg for IV, 3560 mg/Kg for the IP and 4040 mg/Kg for oral); C.paradisi’s essence administration by different routes IV, IP, oral prevents LD50 significantly (2600, 2600 and 3080 mg/Kg respectively). The C.aurantium’s essence administration by different routes IV, IP and oral, significantly prevents the LD50 (2920, 3560 and 4360 mg/Kg sequentially). C.reticulata’s essences administration by different routes IV, IP and oral prevent the LD50 significantly (3400, 3720 and 4520 mg/Kg sequentially). The mortality evaluation else the LD50 for each variety shown that injection of extract from different species of Citrus by the IV route is highly toxic compared to other routes. Citrus species are rich in different chemical constituents and oxygenic terpene compound supports this purpose or to the presence of high acidity.
